As teams took to the track at Sebring, Road to Indy teams continued to make announcements for their 2023 driver lineups.
In the USF 2000 series, George Garciarce will switch from Jay Howard Driver Development to DEForce Racing, in a move announced by DEForce Racing on December 14th.
Garciarce, who hails from Mexico, brings a wealth of experience to the young DEForce lineup. He ran full-time in the series last season, finishing 13th in the driver standings.
At only 17, Garciarce found his stride toward the latter part of the season with JHDD. His average finish in the final four races of the season was 8.25.
On December 15th, Exclusive Autosport announced that Avery Towns will join their USF 2000 lineup for the upcoming season.
After racking up wins in the Sports Car Club of America’s Formula X Division, he will make his first move into professional motorsport when he joins the Canadian-based team in 2023.
Towns had five race wins en route to a Southern Conference championship in the Formula X division in 2022.
Towns will be joined by New Zealander Jacob Douglas, who finished 12th in the USF 2000 standings in 2022.
