Sebastian Wheldon won the first race of the 2024 Yacademy Winter Series from pole at Sebring International Raceway on Wednesday morning, coming out ahead of Exclusive Autosport’s Jack Jeffers and Evan Cooley.
Wheldon, driving for VRD Racing, led throughout the course of the entire race. Two Jay Howard Driver Development drivers, G3 Argyros and Ava Dobson, rounded out the top-5.
The win comes on the back of Wheldon being one of the fastest drivers of the practice sessions of the weekend before beating out Jeffers for pole position yesterday afternoon.
The race had only one caution flag which was brought out due to an incident involving VRD Racing’s Michael Suco on lap 3. Suco was the only driver of 16 who did not finish.
