It was a great day within the Jay Howard Driver Development garage as Evagoras Papasavvas and Michael Costello drove home a first and second place finish for the team in the second of three USF2000 races this weekend.
Both Papasavvas and Costello started in the top three of race 1 but were involved in separate incidents that knocked them down the finishing order. The two shared the front row and cleanly navigated the start before building out a commanding gap.
VRD Racing’s Thomas Schrage was riding high in a podium spot in the first few laps before collecting damage and being forced down the field, allowing Elliot Cox to inherit third place.
On lap 13, the race’s only caution came out when Brady Golan spun into the gravel trap in turn 8.
Max Taylor and Max Garcia finished behind Cox in fourth and fifth place, respectively. While the last USF2000 race had only three green flag laps due to challenging wet weather conditions, race 2 had only one caution and the race was run in the dry.
