UPDATE: Full results of the test are now available here.
Coming off of topping the charts at the Chris Griffis Memorial Test a few weeks ago, Myles Rowe will be a driver to keep an eye on tomorrow when the Indy NXT series tests at Barber Motorsports Park in Leeds, Alabama.
ABEL Motorsports, Rowe’s team, is carrying the same four drivers from Indianapolis down south to contest tomorrow. The team announced yesterday afternoon that their two announced drivers for 2025, Rowe and Yuven Sundaramoorthy, will be joined by Callum Hedge and Jordan Missig. Hedge in particular impressed at Indianapolis, placing his car fourth in the final session of the day.
“Barber is one of the most intense tracks we go to in terms of the physicality it takes to be quick there,” Hedge said in a press release distributed by ABEL. “You really have to work hard for your lap time here which makes putting it all together that much more rewarding, but can’t wait to get back in the car and keep going.”
The other team to formally announce their roster is HMD Motorsports. They’re bringing nine drivers to the Yellowhammer State. Sophia Flörsch is the new addition to the lineup coming off of a 29th place finish in the standings FIA Formula 3, with her best finish being a 12th place at Imola.
Hailie Deegan will also run in this test. She’ll be in an open-wheel car twice this week: At the Barber test and then again at the Circuit of the Americas when she makes her open-wheel racing debut in Formula Regional Americas. Those races can be streamed for free on YouTube here.
As for the rest of HMD’s lineup, 2024 New Zealand Grand Prix winner Liam Sceats will get back in a HMD car after an impressive top-five series debut in Indianapolis. Indy NXT returners Bryce Aron, Caio Collet, Josh Pierson, Josh Mason and Nolan Allaer will run for HMD. Tommy Smith, a confirmed HMD driver for 2025 who ran alongside Sophia Flörsch in FIA F3 will test as well.
As for Andretti, they have not made a formal announcement of who will take part in the test. Salvador de Alba confirmed himself on Instagram he is taking part in the test following a race win this weekend in a support race in GT cars ahead of the Mexican Grand Prix on the Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez. More drivers are expected to test alongside him. Although Andretti hasn’t officially confirmed its lineup, both Dennis Hauger and Andretti Cape’s Ricardo Escotto and Jace Denmark have posted on social media indicating they’re at Barber, hinting that they may take part in the test.
Miller Vinatieri Motorsports confirmed that Jack William Miller will be taking part in the test as he continues to build on his rookie season.
For Juncos, USF Pro 2000 driver Frankie Mossman confirmed via social media that he is taking part in the test. Both of those two tested in Indianapolis as well.
10/28 UPDATE: It is now confirmed that reigning USF Juniors champion Max Taylor is running for Juncos as well today through a last-minute opening.
One thing with this test is that results will be hard to come by as the series is not handling the operations of the test. Typically, the full results are not released to the public.
