After partaking in the series in 2023 and 2024, Juncos Hollinger Racing announced they are suspending their Indy NXT program temporarily to focus on IndyCar, according to a statement released by the team on Thursday morning.
Their lone announced driver for the 2025 season, 30-year-old Paraguayan MiguelMa Garcia, will not be competing for Juncos in Indy NXT. He did not partake in any of the offseason testing sessions with the team as well.
The team has had a long and storied history in Indy NXT before returning from their hiatus in 2023. They won titles with Kyle Kaiser in 2015 and Spencer Pigot in 2017 during a run where the team was among the top of the series.
“Our commitment to excellence in motorsport requires us to make strategic decisions that align with our brand values,” the statement reads. “While we have made the difficult choice to pause our Indy NXT program, this decision allows us to concentrate our resources where they can be most effective.”
Juncos mentioned that the pause is temporary, and they will seek opportunities to compete in the series in the future. As of now, there are five teams set to compete in Indy NXT in 2025.
