ABEL Motorsports’s Jordan Missig defied expectations in the Indy NXT practice sessions on the Streets of St. Petersburg.

Missig took part in five races last season for ABEL but only managed to finish above thirteenth in one race last season. If practice at St. Pete is a foretelling of what is to come, Missig could take a large step up in his second year.

In the first session of the weekend on Friday afternoon, Missig ran fourth fastest with a 1:05.988. He ran a second session time of 1:04.935 which put him in tenth position.

Missig was part of an ABEL Motorsports group which were all right near the top of the timesheets throughout practice. Him and teammates Myles Rowe and Callum Hedge all found themselves in the top six cars in the first session. All three also ran near the front of the field in the second practice session as well, with Rowe’s 1:04.296 being the fastest time in the whole session.

Missig and his ABEL Motorsports teammates will take part in their next session when Indy NXT qualifies at 1:30 p.m. local time this afternoon.
