Hi all,

Thank you all for reading USOpenWheelNation. In the past year, thousands have turned to the page for high-quality coverage of Indy NXT, USF Pro 2000 and a half-dozen other junior open-wheel series in America.

The Rod Campbell Award, established in the name of the motorsports marketing great in 2021, has become the most prestigious sought by young motorsport journalists in America. I have won the award, and this post is scheduled for after that news is announced on RACER.com this morning.

For those who are new to my work, my name is Eddie and I cover all those aforementioned series on this website, my Instagram page @usopenwheelnation with over 1200 followers, my TikTok @usopenwheelnation with over 600 followers, and now on my personal X account, @eddiefuhrer.

You can see some of my work here, including my profile on Hailie Deegan’s transition to Indy NXT, Dennis Hauger’s move to racing in America after years of Formula 2, or some of my more niche pieces: one on a college student who banded together friends to start a Formula 4 team or a young racing driver who also made his mark on the athletics track.

One common theme of my stories is the human-focused aspect. On-track performance is one thing, but getting to know these people as people is just as important to comprehensive motorsports coverage. I wanted to first thank all the drivers who have allowed me to tell their stories over the years.

I also wanted to thank the USF Pro Championships and Parella Motorsports Holdings, and more recently Indy NXT, for letting me cover their events. Winning this award and grabbing this prestigious fellowship will let me go to many more races.

I finally wanted to thank my parents and friends for their support. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to get this far. Regardless of where USOWN goes from here, my commitment will always be to tell stories and to further motorsport through it. I hope you consider subscribing to USOWN to see what the stories from the next generation of drivers look like.
