It was Lochie Hughes who came through in the end of the first Indy NXT practice session of the weekend to set the quickest time for Andretti Global with a 1:11.026.

Hughes’s teammate Dennis Hauger ran second quickest in a session that saw the Norwegian sit ahead by two tenths over ABEL’s Callum Hedge.

Hauger’s 1:11.110, ran on the eleventh lap of the session, beat out Hedge by just over a tenth as the two set the pace for the field and put a gap of three tenths between them and a clump of cars behind.

Sitting in fourth place in the session was Hughes’s teammate Salvador de Alba, who ran a 1:11.612 late in the session. Rounding out the top five was Caio Collet, who won at the track for HMD Motorsports in 2024. Collet also is the reigning winner in the series, having taken victory two weeks ago at Road America.

It was also a top ten in practice for Evagoras Papasavvas, who is having his first Indy NXT start at his hometown track.

“I’m really excited to be here,” Papasavvas said. “We had the test here (before the season) and it was my first time in the car and it went really well. I’m really ready to go and had a lot of preparation.”
