The opening day of USF Pro Championships competition this weekend saw all three series qualify and two race as ladder racing action was showcased to fans heading into IndyCar weekend at Mid-Ohio.

In USF Juniors, who had their first race of the weekend at 1 p.m. as the first of seven USF Pro Championships races of the weekend, it was dominance across all sessions for Zanella Racing as the team’s championship leaders continued to flex their muscles this season as Leonardo Escorpioni took victory after fighting side-by-side with teammate and polesitter Ty Fisher in a dramatic back half of the race.

Pabst Racing found their stride in USF2000 taking victory with Caleb Gafrarar as he took his first career win in the USF Pro Championships. Jack Jeffers grabbed his sixth podium finish of the season as he looked to continue closing the gap to championship leader Thomas Schrage, who started the race on pole and finished third behind Gafrarar and Jeffers.
