It was two-for-two for each class and overall winner in Formula Race Promotions at New Jersey Motorsports Park as drivers swept the race weekend to kick off the series’s August slate.

Gabriel Cahan (F1600), Joe Colasacco (F1600 Masters) Richard Zober (ATL-016), and Nick Palacio (F2000) all took their second consecutive victories of the weekend as the championship battles were finalized heading into the season finale at Summit Point Raceway in two weeks.

Due to an on-track incident earlier in the morning, the second races for both series were the final of the weekend after FRP’s morning sessions were canceled. In the afternoon, F1600, and a combined race between Atlantic Championship and F2000 cars took place.

Here’s the results and recaps from Sunday competition at NJMP:

F1600:

Race 2 – Overall:

  1. Gabriel Cahan
  2. Chace Supplee
  3. Ayrton Cahan
  4. Joe Colasacco (M)
  5. Cooper Travis

Race 2 – Masters:

  1. Joe Colasacco
  2. David Adorno
  3. John Thompson

Gabriel Cahan took control of the championship this weekend with a weekend sweep that will give him the upper edge in the title fight for the first time of 2025. Cahan built a clean 8 second lead by the end of the race.

Finishing second in the race was Chace Supplee, who secured his season-best finish of 2025 and his first podium of his FRP F1600 career. His previous best finish was a fourth place in Pittsburgh in June. After not appearing at Watkins Glen, Supplee’s strong weekend at New Jersey puts him right in the fight for a top-five finish in the championship standings in his rookie year when accounting for the three drops.

Ayrton Cahan entered this weekend as the championship leader and will stay safely in the hunt trailing his brother as they head to Summit Point. Joe Colasacco picked up the weekend sweep in F1600 Masters, with class championship leader David Adorno having a bounce-back race to take second in class.

F2000:

Race 2:

  1. Nick Palacio
  2. Carter Sheets
  3. John Dole
  4. Philip Jasper
  5. Gabriele Jasper

Nick Palacio picked up his second win of the weekend and continued his strong run of form in the F2000 class dating back to his Road America win just over a month ago as he beat out championship leader Carter Sheets.

Finishing behind them was John Dole, who grabbed his best finishing position of the season in third.

Atlantic:
